THE PLACE TO BE SUMMER 2009 was with PRFDance Director
Tekina-eirú Maynard, in Puerto Rico with El Concilio Taino Guatu-Ma-Cu A
Boriken. Enjoy these special memories of El Concilio's annual homecoming that
calls all their people home. Whether they drive from across the island
or travel by plane from the Mainland US, no one wants to miss
"El Dia Taino" that includes a day of Ceremonial Areytos done in
the full ceremonial dress, in the tradition of our Ancestors.
Tekina-eirú is a proud blood descendant of the native Tainos who call
the island Boriken. Tekina-eirú is mentored in native traditions b
y El Concilio's Cacike Caciba Opil, and is the recognized Tekina
Suania (Tierra Firme/for the Americas) for El Concilio.
